Kejelcha regains world half-marathon record in Buenos Aires
Ethiopian runner Yomif Kejelcha reclaimed the world half-marathon record on Sunday, August 23, clocking 56:51 at the Media Maratón Ciudad de Buenos Aires in Argentina. The time bettered Jacob Kiplimo's previous mark of 57:20, set in Lisbon in March, by 29 seconds. The 28-year-old had originally set the record with 57:30 in Valencia in October 2024, and earlier this year became only the second man in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon, finishing second at London in 1:59:41.
