Kerr becomes Chelsea's all-time top WSL scorer

Sam Kerr became Chelsea's all-time top WSL goalscorer on Sunday, netting her 64th Women's Super League goal for the club with a first-half header against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, surpassing Fran Kirby's record. The 32-year-old Australian headed home a Niamh Charles cross past goalkeeper Katie Keane to claim the landmark. The achievement is particularly notable as Kerr only returned to action in September after a 20-month absence caused by an ACL rupture sustained in January 2024.
