Kimi Antonelli hits wall as George Russell takes F1 Azerbaijan GP pole

George Russell claimed pole position for the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, beating Charles Leclerc by 0.837 seconds. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, who leads Russell by 81 points and has won the last two races, crashed out in Q1 after clipping a barrier at turn one with only 11 minutes of the session completed. Russell will start Saturday's race from pole with an opportunity to reduce the points gap to his Mercedes teammate.
