Kopitar 'very happy' in retirement after storied NHL career

Anze Kopitar, who retired this spring after 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, expressed happiness in retirement and excitement about spending more time with his family. The Slovenian center, drafted 11th overall in 2005, finished his career with 1,316 points (452 goals, 864 assists), winning two Stanley Cup championships (2012, 2014), two Selke Trophies, and three Lady Byng Trophies. Kopitar, who served as Kings captain since 2016, spoke at a farewell tribute game in Slovakia, where he was honored alongside former NHL great Zdeno Chara.
