Kreider joins Canadiens, hopes to win over ‘passionate’ fans
Chris Kreider, who signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, spoke at the team's preseason golf tournament on Monday about his complicated history with the franchise. Kreider is infamously remembered by Canadiens fans for colliding with goalie Carey Price in Game 1 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Final, injuring Price for the rest of the playoffs, after which the New York Rangers won the series in six games. Kreider acknowledged Montreal fans have 'long memories' but insisted the collision was unintentional and expressed enthusiasm about helping the team win.
