Kreider signs with Canadiens after Ducks terminate contract

Chris Kreider, 35, signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday after the Anaheim Ducks terminated his deal on Thursday following unconditional waivers. Kreider had one year remaining on his seven-year, $45.5 million Rangers contract and recorded 50 points in 75 regular-season games last season with Anaheim. Over 14 NHL seasons, he has totalled 632 points and 348 goals in 958 regular-season games, joining a Canadiens side that reached the Eastern Conference Final last season before losing to Carolina in five games.
