Kucherov, MacKinnon, McDavid named Hart Trophy finalists

Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay Lightning), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche), and Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) were named finalists for the NHL Hart Trophy on Friday, May 8, 2026. Kucherov recorded 130 points in 76 games with a league-leading 1.71 points-per-game average, while MacKinnon led the NHL with 53 goals and 127 points. The Hart Trophy is awarded annually to the most valuable player as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
