Lando Norris joins the McLaren Hypercar Team for WEC track test in Algarve

Lando Norris, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, joined McLaren's Hypercar Team for a WEC track test at Portimão, Portugal on September 14, 2026, completing 38 laps of the 4.653 km Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in the MCL-HY. The session marked the Hypercar's fifth FIA WEC track outing and was part of McLaren's development programme ahead of their 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship debut and return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Norris was joined by factory driver Mikkel Jensen and 2024 FIA WEC Hypercar Drivers' Champion Laurens Vanthoor, who officially joins the team from 2027.
