Lando Norris reveals "painful" McLaren deficit after Bahrain GP
Lando Norris revealed after the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia that McLaren's straightline speed deficit is costing him almost two-tenths of a second per lap, describing the situation as 'painful as hell.' The 2025 champion started fifth but dropped to 16th after choosing medium tyres over the optimal intermediates, and later fell from eighth to 11th following an incident at a safety car restart where he misjudged the speed of cars ahead and went into the gravel. Norris acknowledged it was his responsibility to judge the restart situation but noted visibility issues from his angle.
