Lando Norris rues online abuse, explains Franco Colapinto apology

Lando Norris issued both a private and public apology to Franco Colapinto following their collision at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, after Norris had called for Colapinto to receive a race ban. Norris spoke out on Thursday in Malaysia, explaining he personally reached out to Colapinto first, but later issued a public statement to help calm an online backlash directed at him from sections of Colapinto's fanbase. Norris stressed that Colapinto was the only person he truly needed to apologise to, and that the public statement was aimed at the wider audience.
