Lando Norris says he is in the fight for the 2026 Formula 1 Championship

Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris, who won his maiden title in 2025 by defeating Max Verstappen, has declared he is still in contention for the 2026 championship despite McLaren struggling early in the season. An upgrade package introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix appeared to transform the McLaren MCL40, with Norris winning that race and showing competitive pace at Zandvoort, missing Sprint Pole by less than a tenth to Mercedes' George Russell. Norris says he feels relaxed and unpressured this season, but remains motivated to push for a second world title whenever the opportunity arises.
