Larry Berg says improving on-field product is ‘job one’ at MLS

Larry Berg, a 60-year-old private equity veteran and LAFC co-owner, was officially introduced as the next MLS commissioner at a press conference on Tuesday, exactly 27 years after Don Garber was named the league's second commissioner. Berg stated that improving the on-field product is his top priority for the league. The event took place at MLS's Manhattan offices, attended by around 200 league employees, succession committee co-chairs Jimmy Haslam and Bennett Rosenthal, and U.S. Soccer CEO JT Batson.
