Four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen qualified third on the grid for the Spanish Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit. Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies praised the performance as 'truly exceptional,' noting it was Verstappen's best qualifying result of the season outside of Miami, Monaco, and Belgium where he had achieved second place. Lando Norris took pole position for the race.
