Lawsuit seeks to halt UFC Freedom 250 event on White House lawn

The Public Integrity Project filed a lawsuit on Saturday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking an emergency temporary restraining order to halt UFC Freedom 250, a mixed martial arts event planned for June 14 on the White House grounds. The event, which would coincide with President Trump's 80th birthday and is billed as part of the nation's 250th birthday celebration, would be the first professional sports event held on White House grounds. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Virginia residents Susan Douglas and Paul Romano, alleges the president is improperly granting UFC CEO Dana White, a close personal ally, exclusive access to the White House and Lincoln Memorial for a private, for-profit event in violation of federal rules.
