League One: PFA starts legal proceedings against EFL over salary cap

The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has initiated legal proceedings against the English Football League (EFL) over changes to salary cap regulations in League One. The EFL announced in May that Squad Cost Rules (SCR) would replace the existing Profitability and Sustainability financial framework from the 2026-27 season. The key dispute centres on a reduction in the percentage of turnover clubs can spend on wages, dropping from 60% to 50% under the new rules.
