LeBron James partners with PGA Tour on hometown event

LeBron James and the PGA Tour have announced a partnership to bring a golf event to Akron, Ohio, James's hometown. The LeBron James Family Foundation Invitational is scheduled for July 6-7, 2027, at the South Course at Firestone Country Club, and is aimed at introducing young people to golf and supporting aspiring professional golfers. The event is an extension of James's I Promise program, which currently supports more than 1,400 students in the Akron area.
