Lennon: Criticism of managers 'way over the top'

Neil Lennon, the 55-year-old Dunfermline manager and former Celtic and Hibernian boss, has spoken out about the mental health challenges facing football managers, warning that criticism of those in his profession is 'way over the top' and too instant in the modern era. Speaking on the Unmasked podcast by Glasgow-based psychiatry practice Diverse Diagnostics, Lennon questioned whether managers are receiving adequate psychological support while dealing with public scrutiny, abuse, and the constant threat of being sacked. Lennon, who has previously discussed his own experiences with depression, called for greater support structures for those working in football management.
