Levi trying to make most of chance as NHL goalie with Oilers
Devon Levi, 24, is seizing an expanded opportunity with the Edmonton Oilers after Frederik Andersen suffered an offseason injury. Levi was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on July 1 and responded with a win against the Seattle Kraken after spending most of the past two seasons in the AHL with Rochester, posting a 2.83 GAA and .904 save percentage in 52 games. Originally a seventh-round pick by Florida in 2020, Levi was traded to Buffalo in the Sam Reinhart deal and previously earned best goalie honors at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship with a .964 save percentage.
