Lewis Hamilton explains dramatic turnaround: 'Never been so down'
Lewis Hamilton qualified on the front row for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix after a difficult practice phase, where he was up to a second off the pace following his absence from FP1, which was covered by Ferrari junior Dino Beganovic as part of mandatory rookie outings. George Russell claimed pole position for Mercedes, while Hamilton's team-mate Charles Leclerc crashed out in Q3, leaving Ferrari at a disadvantage for the race. Hamilton described the turnaround as remarkable given how far off the pace he had been, calling it the lowest point he had experienced in terms of the gap to others.
