Lewis Hamilton F1 Belgian GP penalty was completely justified, says former driver
Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has defended the FIA stewards' decision to penalise Lewis Hamilton with a five-second penalty for causing a collision with George Russell at the Belgian Grand Prix. The incident occurred on the opening lap at Spa-Francorchamps, where Russell suffered a sudden loss of electrical deployment, and Hamilton's Ferrari made contact with the Mercedes, sending Russell into the gravel and out of the race. While Russell and others considered it a racing incident, Montoya argued the penalty was completely justified given the circumstances of the first lap.
