Lewis Hamilton grateful to Ferrari for tolerating ‘relentless’ quest for F1 improvement
Lewis Hamilton claimed his first Formula 1 victory with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, using a perfect strategy and a Virtual Safety Car to take a commanding win that moved him to second in the Drivers' Championship. Hamilton expressed gratitude to Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur, crediting him as the key figure who made the move to Ferrari possible and for tolerating his relentless pursuit of improvements. The win carries added significance as Vasseur also led Hamilton to his GP2 title in 2006, reuniting the pair as winners some 20 years later.
