Lewis Hamilton handed Ferrari F1 intra-team prediction with ‘pedestal’ verdict

Lewis Hamilton claimed his first victory for Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, and former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley has revealed that his contacts within the Italian team have placed Hamilton 'on a pedestal.' Smedley noted that Hamilton is currently outperforming teammate Charles Leclerc, who is now the one struggling, a reversal from earlier in 2025 when Leclerc handled the difficult SF-25 car better. Speaking on the High Performance Racing podcast, Smedley stopped short of predicting Hamilton will dominate every weekend, but believes the seven-time champion is positioned to be the higher scorer between the two drivers.
