Lewis Hamilton making life 'more difficult for himself' at Ferrari, claims F1 insider

Former F1 driver and pundit David Coulthard has reiterated his concern that Lewis Hamilton made things harder for himself by joining Ferrari without trusted Mercedes allies, including longtime race engineer Peter Bonnington. The 41-year-old seven-time champion struggled in his debut Ferrari season but showed improvement in 2025, winning the Spanish Grand Prix to end a 686-day victory drought and currently sits second in the drivers' championship. However, a disappointing Hungarian Grand Prix weekend — acknowledged by team principal Fred Vasseur as substandard — has renewed scrutiny of Hamilton's transition to the Scuderia.
