Lewis Hamilton reveals F1 demand after 'painful' experience

Lewis Hamilton completed a gruelling two-day, 300-lap wet-weather tyre test for Pirelli at Ferrari's Fiorano track in April. During the test, Hamilton pushed for tyre blankets to be reintroduced on full wet (extreme) tyres, which were banned in 2023 on sustainability grounds. He also successfully lobbied Pirelli to make changes to the blanket usage for intermediate tyres, a suggestion he says was implemented and produced impressive results.
