Lewis Hamilton wish granted as new F1 grand prix confirmed

Formula 1 has officially confirmed the African Grand Prix will take place in Rwanda from the early 2030s, ending a near four-decade absence from the continent since the last African race at Kyalami, South Africa in 1993. The race, titled the African Grand Prix presented by Visit Rwanda, will be held at a new purpose-built circuit in Bugesera, approximately 40km south of the capital Kigali, adjacent to the new Kigali International Airport. Rwanda was selected over rival candidates including South Africa, Morocco, and Nigeria, with strong diplomatic ties between Rwandan President Paul Kagame and F1 leadership including CEO Stefano Domenicali cited as a key factor.
