Lightning threat looms over Miami as F1 returns with upgraded cars and new rules
Formula One returns from a five-week enforced break at the Miami Grand Prix, the hiatus having followed the cancellation of the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain GPs due to the war in the Middle East, with the last race held in Japan on 29 March. Teams including Ferrari and McLaren have used the break to develop upgrades to their cars, many of which are being debuted in Miami alongside updated regulations making their first appearance this weekend. The event faces potential disruption, however, with lightning storms threatening to force a schedule change on Sunday.
