Lionel Messi agrees deal to buy second-tier Spanish club Eldense
Lionel Messi has reached an agreement in principle to become the sole owner of Spanish second-division club CD Eldense, the club confirmed on September 9, 2026. The deal involves purchasing 100 percent of shares held by Colombian investment group TH S, though it remains subject to due diligence and approval from Spain's High Council for Sports (CSD). This would make Eldense Messi's second Spanish club, following his acquisition of fifth-tier UE Cornella in April 2026.
