Lionel Messi won the record-extending 48th trophy of his career on Wednesday night as Inter Miami defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 to claim the 2026 Michelob ULTRA Campeones Cup at Nu Stadium. Messi scored his 100th goal for Inter Miami with a 24th-minute header assisted by Luis Suárez, then set up Casemiro for the second goal. The victory gave Inter Miami a trophy in four consecutive seasons, every year since Messi joined the club midway through the 2023 campaign.
