LIV Golf and Bryson DeChambeau tee off new era but cannot escape Saudi shadow

LIV Golf opened its first American tournament of the year at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, with Bryson DeChambeau teeing off before a modest crowd. The event comes shortly after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund confirmed it would no longer fund the league, which had originally been envisioned as the world's premier professional golf tour. Prior to that announcement, LIV Golf had already postponed a tournament that was scheduled for New Orleans at the end of June.
