LIV Golf future: Martin Kaymer expresses doubts about circuit

Two-time major champion Martin Kaymer has stated it is 'highly unlikely' that LIV Golf's 2026 team championship will take place, and admitted players are uncertain whether the circuit will exist at all in 2027. LIV Golf is facing a serious financial crisis following the withdrawal of Saudi Arabian backing at the end of the current season, after the Kingdom invested more than £3.75 billion to fund the circuit's first three years. New LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil, who took the role in January 2025, is now attempting to secure alternative funding to keep the tour alive.
