Liverpool issue 432 life bans and seize £1.2m in ticket tout investigation

Liverpool FC and Merseyside Police have completed a joint investigation into ticket touting, resulting in 432 lifetime bans and the seizure of over £1.2 million in assets linked to organised touts. The operation, the first of its kind between a Premier League club and a local police authority, involved analysing nearly 700,000 ticket registrations from last season and focused on the laundering of criminal proceeds from illicit ticket sales under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Two people have already been convicted, a third is due in court next month, and the seized assets will be divided between Merseyside Police and the Home Office.
