Liverpool owner FSG seals £1.65bn sale of 30% stake to consortium including Jeff Bezos
Fenway Sports Group has confirmed the sale of a 30% stake in Liverpool FC to the 1892 Holdings consortium for £1.65bn, valuing the club at £5.5bn. The consortium is led by Amit Bhatia, son-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, and includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos through his K5 Sports fund and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin via EE Capital. Bhatia, a former co-owner of Queens Park Rangers, will become Liverpool's new vice-chairman on an expanded board.
