Lizzie Deignan to take sporting director role at GB cycling

Former world champion Lizzie Deignan, 37, has been appointed as a sporting director for Great Britain's cycling team. In the role, she will support the road squad at major events through to the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Deignan retired from professional cycling in July of last year, having previously become the first rider to win all three 'monument' one-day races, including Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and the Tour of Flanders.
