London loses bid to host 2029 World Athletics as Nairobi named host

Nairobi, Kenya has been named as the host city for the 2029 World Athletics Championships, defeating a rival bid from London. The 2031 World Athletics Championships were also confirmed and awarded to Munich, Germany. The decisions were announced by World Athletics, settling the hosting rights for the next two editions of the flagship event.
