London Marathon 2026: Sabastian Sawe becomes first man to run marathon under two hours with stunning world record

Kenyan runner Sabastian Sawe became the first man to officially break the two-hour marathon barrier, winning the 2026 London Marathon on Sunday in a world record time of 1:59:30. His run bettered the previous record of 2:00:35 set by the late Kelvin Kiptum at the 2023 Chicago Marathon by 35 seconds. Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha finished second in 1:59:41 on his marathon debut, while Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo took bronze in 2:02:28.
