London Marathon 2026: Sawe lands historic men's win

Kenyan runner Sabastian Sawe won the 2026 London Marathon in a world record time of 1:59:30, becoming the first person in history to officially run a sub-two-hour marathon. His time beat the previous world record held by the late Kelvin Kiptum by 65 seconds, set at the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Sawe also successfully defended his London Marathon title from the previous year, while Eliud Kipchoge's 2019 sub-two-hour run remains unrecognised as it was not in open competition.
