London Marathon CEO Hugh Brasher: 2026 race day was the proudest moment of my career

London Marathon Events CEO Hugh Brasher has described the 2026 London Marathon race day as the proudest moment of his career. Brasher, who began his sports career working at running retailer Sweatshop from age 15, accidentally became an event organiser after writing to Nottingham City Council about sponsoring the Robin Hood Marathon, ultimately being asked to organise it with just 19 weeks' preparation. He later expanded his event management work by taking on the Reading Half Marathon while continuing to grow the Sweatshop retail business.
