London Marathon plans to hold one-off two day event in 2027

The 2027 London Marathon will be held over two days — Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th April — in a one-off format, with over 100,000 participants expected across both days. The men's and women's elite races will be split across the weekend, with each day also featuring a mass participation event covering the full 26.2-mile distance. London Marathon Events CEO Hugh Brasher described it as 'our most ambitious evolution to date,' citing record ballot entries of 1.33 million and over £90 million raised by this year's competitors.
