London Marathon to take place over two days in 2027 with 100,000 runners

The 2027 London Marathon will expand to a two-day event on April 24-25, accommodating a record 100,000 runners — nearly double the 60,512 who participated in this year's race. A record 1.33 million people have already applied for the 2027 edition, with ballot places to be selected in July. London Mayor Sadiq Khan described it as a one-off expansion that will create the largest fundraising moment in UK sporting history.
