London Spirit begin new Hundred era with Tinie Tempah and double defeat

London Spirit suffered a double defeat at Lord's on the opening day of the new Hundred season, with both their men's and women's teams losing to Manchester Super Giants. The men's side lost by seven runs in a match where Spirit captain Liam Livingstone starred with two wickets for 14 runs and scored 69 off 40 balls in a losing chase of 139, before being bowled by Sonny Baker. It was the fifth time in six seasons that the Spirit men have lost their opening game, despite the franchise having new owners, coaches, and players this year.
