Lorena Wiebes sprints to Tour de France Femmes stage one win

Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes won the opening stage of the 2025 Tour de France Femmes, also claiming the first yellow jersey of the race. The 27-year-old Team SD Worx-Protime rider, last year's green jersey winner, survived a challenging 1.5-mile climb at 4.1% gradient near the finish before outsprinting a group of around 20 riders. The 85.5-mile stage was an out-and-back route starting and finishing in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
