Lorena Wiebes sprints to Tour de France Femmes stage one win

Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes won the opening stage of the Tour de France Femmes, taking the first yellow jersey of the race. The 27-year-old Team SD Worx-Protime rider, last year's green jersey winner, completed the 85.5-mile out-and-back route from Lausanne, Switzerland, surviving a 1.5-mile climb at 4.1% gradient near the finish before outsprinting a group of around 20 riders. Wiebes is widely regarded as the fastest female sprinter in the professional peloton.
