Lucic retires from NHL after 17 seasons, won Stanley Cup with Bruins
Milan Lucic announced his retirement from the NHL on Sunday, his 38th birthday, after 17 seasons and 1,177 regular-season games in which he recorded 586 points (233 goals, 353 assists). The rugged forward won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011, contributing 12 points in 25 playoff games as Boston defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 in Game 7. Lucic, drafted by Boston in the second round (No. 50) of the 2006 NHL Draft, also played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames during his career.
