Luka Dončić-led Lakers begin post-LeBron James era with blowout win over Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers opened their 2026-27 NBA season without LeBron James for the first time since 2017, defeating the Golden State Warriors 127-105 in a dominant home blowout on Wednesday, October 22, 2026. Luka Dončić led the team in their season opener, proving to be a capable centerpiece for the post-LeBron era in Los Angeles. The Warriors were shorthanded for the contest, which contributed to the lopsided margin of victory.
