Luís Figo blasts ‘deceitful’ Infantino and says Fifa president must quit to ‘save football’
Former Portugal star Luís Figo has publicly condemned FIFA president Gianni Infantino, calling his failed proposal to sell private stakes in the World Cup 'the lowest, most deceitful and cravenly self-interested behaviour' he has ever witnessed. Infantino was forced to abandon the controversial plan following strong opposition led by UEFA, and is now facing an uncertain future after calling an emergency meeting with FIFA staff on Wednesday. Figo has demanded Infantino resign, stating it is 'too late to save his dignity, not too late to save football.'
