Noah Lyles ran a world-leading 9.79 seconds (wind: 0.8m/s) to win the men's 100m at the 2026 US Championships in New York, equalling his lifetime best. He finished comfortably ahead of Ronnie Baker and Kenny Bednarek, who both clocked 9.88, with Baker edging second place by 0.005 seconds. Earlier in the semifinals, Lyles had run a wind-assisted 9.76, which would have been a lifetime best without the 2.1m/s wind.
