Maddy Cusack inquest adjourned for second time

An inquest into the death of Sheffield United women's player Maddy Cusack, who was found unresponsive at her home in Horsley, Derbyshire on September 20, 2023, aged 27, has been adjourned for the second time this year. After eight days of evidence at Chesterfield Coroner's Court, Assistant Coroner Sophie Cartwright KC adjourned proceedings until December 7 to obtain further information, having previously been expected to deliver a conclusion on July 27. The inquest heard that Cusack's family sent a written complaint to Sheffield United within a week of her death, alleging issues stemming from her time under coach Jonathan Morgan, who had reportedly made comments about her weight and relationships.
