Madrid Open 2026: Jannik Sinner fends off local wildcard Rafa Jódar to storm into semi-finals
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated Spanish wildcard Rafa Jódar 6-2, 7-6(0) in the Madrid Open 2026 quarter-finals on Wednesday, April 29, with the match lasting one hour and 57 minutes. The 19-year-old Jódar, a hometown wildcard, pushed Sinner in the second set before the top seed closed it out with a dominant tiebreak.
