Madrid Open: Marta Kostyuk beats Mirra Andreeva for first WTA 1000 title

Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk defeated Russia's Mirra Andreeva 6-3, 7-5 in straight sets to win the Madrid Open, claiming her first WTA 1000 title. The world number 23 and 26th seed became only the second player outside the top 20 to win the tournament in Madrid. Kostyuk described the victory as 'unbelievable' after triumphing in her first final at the WTA 1000 level.
