Mahuchikh soars to Ultimate high jump title back in Budapest
Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the inaugural high jump title at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest on September 11, 2026, clearing a winning height of 1.99m with only one failure. The 24-year-old Olympic and world champion defeated Australia's Nicola Olyslagers, who finished second at 1.95m, while Eleanor Patterson and Angelina Topić shared third place at 1.91m. Mahuchikh made three unsuccessful attempts at 2.04m, which would have set a new world lead, but her title was already secured before those attempts.
